Bad Day? Check Again!

“But those who seek my life, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.” Psalm 63:9

“And we know that all things work together for good for them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

“You take what the enemy meant for evil and You turn it for good. You turn it for good.” ~ Elevation Worship

I have been avoiding writing for months. I know I can’t force something and have it still come from a place where I feel like God is speaking to me, placing it on my heart to share with you my beloved brothers and sisters. I have been spending a good deal of time clinging to Him through listening to Christian music exclusively, never missing a Sunday worship service, and reading (almost) daily devotionals on a Bible app on my phone (I like You Version if anyone wants to read something together!).

God has been essentially smacking me upside the head the past few weeks saying, “HELLO NIKI! Time to write again!!” Okay, God, I got Your MANY clues, hints, nudges, and I hear You loud and clear. I have a gift that You gave me and You want for me to use. He’s good at that, giving gifts, qualifying us for what He’s calling us to do, right?

You know what else God is great at? Taking a bad situation and turning it to good. Making lemonade out of lemons is definitely God’s original idea. You don’t need to look far to find the many ways He has taken bad and made something good come out of it. I know you have things that you can look back on where the hand of God was boldly turning around the end game.

Since Adam and Eve took their fateful fruit bites in the garden thousands of years ago, He has been circumventing evil’s plans and making good come out of it. The devil thought he was so sneaky getting them kicked out of the garden - thought he would have won their souls! But God loved them, LOVES US so much that He said ‘not so fast! I will send my Son and He will save all My children who repent and believe.’ He does it in small things too. A power outage that leads to more family time, cancelled plans that lead to better plans, burned dinner turning into pizza night with a side of laughter in the memories for years to come…

We could probably list hundreds of examples, small to medium to big. The point to remember is no matter who or what you are facing, if you love God, He is working good from the bad in ways that will ultimately blow you away. I don’t believe in coincidences when it comes to God’s children, He has a hand in absolutely every single aspect of our lives - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year from your conception to your last breath.

By the way, if you stumbled upon this and don’t think I’m talking to you because you don’t believe in God? My dear friend He is drawing you to Him because He loves you even if you don’t know who HE is! He is calling you and He wants to be in your life.

Bottom line: God has called each and every one of us to a purpose. He knows evil will try to make our paths difficult, storms will batter us, enemies will seek to destroy us…but He is working all things for good! We just need to listen to Him, follow where He’s calling us to go, and keep on loving Him - and with how much He loves us, it’s not so hard to love Him, am I right?

Would you pray with me?

Father,

Thank you for all the many ways You are working good in our lives - even when we cannot see it! Please help us to keep our focus on You, watching for Your good, as we push to stay on Your path. Strengthen us to boldly live the purpose You are calling us to live and grant us wisdom to know what that purpose is. We ask all things be granted according to Your will and in Jesus’ holy name. Amen.
