Trust God - He Makes All Good Things Possible




"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

"But Jesus looked at them and said to them, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26

The devil is always trying to overwhelm us. He wants us to feel that walking the path a Christian should walk, a path that follows where God leads is too big a task. The devil wants us to rely on anything and everything except for God. And to his credit, a life of sin can be fun. A life without responsibilities is enticing. A life where we don't have consequences for our choices looks so much greener through the tainted lenses Satan presents to us. Friends, I think we can all agree that the "grass isn't always greener on the other side." If we follow the devil long enough, pulling us to look away from God, we will probably eventually see the grass is dead and has been spray painted to look pretty. 

As we seek God, as we dive into His Word, as we trust in Him, we will see more and more that His goodness outshines everything. Part of His goodness is most definitely His wisdom. Our own understanding of the world, or the paths in front of us, is stained by sin. We were born into sin, we cannot escape it on our own. But God has already made a way out! He places the path before us...and with God it is possible to walk in His ways, follow His directions, listen and obey His guidance. Truly with God all things are possible! 

We stumble more when we do not turn to Him for wisdom and discernment. We fall completely when we lean only on our own interpretations of right and wrong, or good and evil. But when we trust in Him, and we live for Him, acknowledging God in all that we do (to God be all the glory!!), He will direct the paths before us and in Him it will truly be possible to do all the things He is calling us to do. 

I'm keeping today's short and simple. Partly because yesterday's bonus blog was so very long, and partly because today's message is very simple:

- Trust in the Lord with everything in you!

- Lean on His wisdom alone!

- Acknowledge Him, and give Him the glory in all that you do! 

- Abide in Him and you will see ALL things are possible WITH GOD!

  If you have a few extra minutes today, I encourage you to read all 22 verses of Psalms Chapter 34. Out loud even. It is one of the comforting Psalms we can turn to when life gets too heavy. I don't know about you, but I am far from righteous. The Anxious Christian

I had such high hopes for 2023. Very little has gone as expected.  On the days when it’s at its worst, it feels like no matter how often - or how hard - I pray, no matter how many devotions I read, no matter how much time I spend in God’s Word, I still end up defeated. Beauty Before the Storm

This is very common in the south, especially when the daily highs soar above the ninety degree mark. The thunder rumbled all around us. The lightening randomly brightened the sky.
